CREEK, MD (October 2, 2006) – Carl Spiering had a good
outing in the Eaton Electrical Supercharged Pro Modified Chevrolet
Camaro at the 15th Annual Torco Racing Fuels President’s
Cup Nationals International Hot Rod (IHRA) eMax Drag Racing
Series at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, Maryland.
“I’m pleased with the semi-final finish in the
Eaton Road Warrior,” Spiering said. “It’s
a testament to our team to go three rounds in the in the quickest
Pro Modified field in IHRA history. There were a lot of quick
hot rods in this race.”
Spiering qualified eighth in the 16-car field with the Eaton
Electrical Supercharged Pro Modified Chevrolet Camaro with
a 6.086-second, 235.64-mph pass. After winning the first round
against Ed Hoover from Gilbert, SC and his 1963 Corvette and
in the second round against Jim Halsey’s 1968 Camaro
from Street, MD, 1968, Spiering, of Jordan Station, ON, was
defeated in the semi-finals by Quain Stott’s 1963 Corvette
from Columbus, NC in a side by side match and was eliminated.
“We will go back to the shop, regroup and get ready
for the last event of the IHRA season in Rockingham,”
Spiering explained. “We need to complete the season
with a strong finish at the Rock.”
The next International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) eMax Drag
Racing Series, the final race of the 11-event season the 11th
Annual IHRA World Finals will take place October 20-22 at
Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, North Carolina.
