Carl
Spiering’s Eaton Road Warrior eighth in final Maryland
IHRA qualifying
“The quickest Pro Modified field
in IHRA history.”
BUDDS
CREEK, MD (September 30, 2006) – Carl Spiering’s
Eaton Electrical Supercharged Pro Modified Chevrolet Camaro
secured eighth position during the final qualifying session
at the 15th Annual Torco Racing Fuels President’s Cup
Nationals International Hot Rod (IHRA) eMax Drag Racing Series
at Maryland International Raceway on Saturday in Budds Creek,
Maryland.
“We ran a super 6.086-second, 235.64-mph in the first
round of qualifying on Friday that put the Eaton Road Warrior
solidly in the field,” said Carl Spiering. “That
gave us the opportunity to try a couple new things with our
setup in the two remaining qualifying runs, added Spiering.
On both our second and third runs we launched into hard shake
and had to lift and aborted the passes. We’ll go back
to our initial setup for race day.”
The Carl Spiering Motorsports entry will face number sixteen
qualifier Ed Hoover from Gilbert, SC and his 1963 Chevrolet,
Corvette in the first round of the final eliminations on Sunday
starting at 11:00 a.m. EST.
“It says a lot for the Eaton Team, qualifying strong
in the quickest Pro Modified field in IHRA history. There
were a bunch of hitters that didn’t make the cut, added
Spiering, the 41-year old driver from Jordan Station, Ontario.
“The guys are on their game and the Eaton Electrical
G-Force Camaro will be ready, and so will I.”
